How can I send money through Chequepoint ?

  • To send money with us you will need to come to around 130 active Chequepoint locations available in CR, either an Agent of Chequepoint or a Branch of Chequepoint.
  • You will then be provided with a International Money Transfer Form, which you will need to fill in indicating your personal details (Full Name, Address, Contact telephone number) as well as the same details for the beneficiary.
  • Then you will need to choose the payout location in the receiving country where the money would be delivered from the list available at any of the Chequepoint Sending locations.
  • The operator then inputs all the details into the money transfer software and you will be issued with the printed receipt that will contain all transaction details and reference number, which you will have to pass to your beneficiary. Check the receipt carefully to ensure all information is correct.
  • You will then be asked to pay the amount you would like to send together with transfer charges. Once all steps have been done your transaction is completed.

Please note that for some receiving countries you may be asked to provide additional compulsory information about either yourself or the recipient due to the local regulations in the receiving country. To find out more call us on 800 32 11 32


How soon will the money be available to the Receiver?
Delivery time varies depending on the receiving country. For many countries,for example for most of the Caribbean destinations, money is ready within 2 hours, or in some cases, even immediately! However most typically a transaction done through Chequepoint would be ready for collection within 24 hours. How will receiver collect money in the receiving country?
Once a transaction has been completed you will need to notify your recipient of the following information: address of the location where money are going to be picked up; time when transaction would be delivered; any reference numbers needed to collect the funds; amount which recipient will receive · Recipient will need to come to the payout location, present nationally accepted form of identification and provide staff at payout location with the transaction reference number.

How will I pay for my transfer?
All transactions have to be made at a Branch or an Agent of Chequepoint and all payments have to be made in cash.

How will I find a Chequepoint location closest to me?
To find a location closest to you simply call us on our Customer Support Line 800 32 11 32, and tell us your postal code, so we can locate an agent nearest to you. We will then be able to supply you with directions as well as contact details of your nearest sending location.

What are Chequepoint Agent locations?
Chequepoint Agents are independent businesses that provide money transfer service to their customers on behalf of Chequepoint. Chequepoint Agents are primarily Newsagents, Pharmacies, Travel Agencies, Bureau de Changes or other retail locations. These businesses will normally have a Chequepoint On-Line transfer system installed at their premises, which allows them to swiftly enter all of the transfer information into our system so it can be forwarded to a payout location.

What Are Chequepoint Branches?
Chequepoint Branches are financial services retail outlets fully owned by Chequepoint. Apart from International Money transfer services they also offer a variety of other financial services, such as Foreign Currency exchange, Cheque Cashing, etc. For information about your closest branch and the financial services which are offered, please call us on our Customer Support Line - 800 32 11 32.

What are the opening hours of Chequepoint?
Each Chequepoint Location determines its own hours of operation; our branches also have different opening and closing times. Most locations maintain extended hours and some even operate on 24 hours basis. If you would like to find out about operating hours of any of our locations please call us on 800 32 11 32. Our Customer Support Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5PM.

How much Money can I send?
The maximum amount may vary depending on the receiving country: for many countries there are no formal limits, for others local restrictions are in place limiting the amount of money you can send. For more information about specific country regulations call on 800 32 11 32. Please note, that when sending large sums of money, or sending on a regular basis, you may be required to provide your proof of ID (International Passport, Personal ID or Driving License) and Proof of Address (Utility Bill or Bank Statement) at the point of transfer you may be asked to indicate the source of the funds and the purpose of the transaction.
